Layout Ideas
Sunday, September 9th, 2007So, I’ve been considering changing my website layout, but I have such a hard time making decisions like that because I’m probably the most indecisive person ever. I question every decision about 6 times before finally making one. And usually, after it’s all said and done, I look back and think, argh, I shouldn’t have done that. *lol* Wow. I think I only now realized how genuinely neurotic I am. Ha, ha! Funny, how simple moments can bring on such major revelations. 
Anyway, I have to samples I’d like you guys to look at, maybe you can give me your opinions on them. I’m going for a dark fairytale look… something to go with my theme of Twisted Fairytale… because really, most of my writing is dark fantasy/sci-fi romances so I want to stick with that sort of theme visually. Here are two samples of what I’ve been working on… opinions are welcome!

Two very different looks… in the sense of color and style. But… same feel… is what I’m going for. I happen to be partial to the first one… because of the color. The second one feels a bit monochromatic. But the second one has the ability to be something great with teh right brush work and such… and maybe a bit of texture in color… like seafoam green or very faded pink? I don’t know, just thinking out loud. Ha, ha. This is probably why most people HIRE their designers. *shakes head* I’m so stubborn.

Joined the MySpace Bandwagon

I’ve been meaning to get on board that train for quite some time. But MySpace tends to scare me a bit.
But I’ve finally done it! Thus far, I’ve only found a few of the authors I know on there… but I hope to do more searching tomorrow.
Let me know how you like the layout as well. I made it myself, on one of those generators. 
I’m very proud of it.

Changes, Oh Sweet Changes

My website will soon be undergoing an overhaul. I have yet to decide whether or not I will be leaving my home at Yahoo! for another host. I chose Yahoo because I understand how it works. It’s a familiar program for me. I’m afraid of having to learn an entirely new system. Then again, I might find something that is both more reliable and more financially acceptable. We’ll see. I’ve seriously considered using the WordPress program. I know many people have transfered to there. I don’t know if Yahoo Geocities is compatible, but I’m going to look around and find out.
At the same time, I’ve considered adding my blog to my website. It makes sense. Have everythign in one place, also make it easier for everyone to look around the site. I’m not sure how to do this. But I know it can be done. I think I read somewhere that Blogger can be redirected to a particular address you specify. If anyone knows anything about this, please let me know!!! Thank you!!
While all of these changes are taking place, I am working on my writing. I have edited up to page 85 of my MS for Freya’s. Which means I only have about 50 more pages to go. That I am very, very excited about. I think more than anything else, I’m anxious to see what my cover will look like when it comes!!! I’ve also kept busy with my WIP. As you can see on the sidebar, I’ve managed to get myself to 32% done! Which is very exciting. Now, to press onward. Still have that goal for August. Come Tuesday, when school is out, I will have a strict schedule for writing. That way I can do a little everyday. And once my edits are done, I can focus on it completely, which will hopefully move me along at a faster pace than I am at now.
