My Desktop Freeview

It is FRIDAY! *proceeds to do the happy dance* You know, it’s funny, you don’t realize the value of weekends until you work. When I was just a stay at home wife, weekends were the same as most other days, except I got to go out and do fun stuff with hubby. But now?! Oh my, weekends are wonderful, magical things. :D I’m excited!

On another note, I went to get my first monthly check-in with the weight loss doctors. I’ve gained 5 lbs in a month, HOWEVER, 3 of those pounds are muscle, and 1 is water weight! Which is great!!! BUT, despite that, I want to lose, not gain, so it means back onto a semi-diet, low in carbs, high in protein, with lots of veggies, until I can get my body to even out again. But yay! I was really proud to hear that. It means those hours at the gym are paying off. I just need to be more regular. I can be such a slacker. ;)

Miss Cora Zane posted a really fun meme in which I’ve been tagged!! Woohoo! I love these things, corny as they might be. Ha, ha. So here are the basics:

A. Upon receiving this tag, immediately perform a screen capture of your desktop. It is best that no icons be deleted before the screen capture so as to add to the element of fun. You can do a screen capture by going to your desktop and pressing the Print Scrn key (located on the right side of the F12 key). Open a graphics program (like Picture Manager, Paint, or Photoshop) and do a Paste (CTRL + V).If you wish, you can “edit” the image, before saving it.

B. Post the picture in your blog. You can also give a short explanation on the look of your desktop just below it if you want. You can explain why you preferred such look or why is it full of icons. Things like that.

C. Tag five of your friends and ask them to give you a Free View of their desktop.

D. Add your name to this list of Free Viewers with a link pointing directly to your Desktop Free View post to promote it to succeeding participants.

Now, don’t laugh. Yes, I know. I am a total fangirl, this fact is not beyond me. What can I say? It inspires me. I often post fanart as my wallpaper. Digital art. Fantasy art. I spend so much time on the computer I figure, might as well have something I like to look at right? This particularly lovely piece is by coccy @ livejournal. It’s from the show Roswell. *sighs* All these years later and I still *heart* that show. That particular episode is one of my favorites.

As you can see from the icon arrangement, I’m also incredibly anal about where they are in respect to what’s in the wallpaper. Which means my icons are constantly changing. And Im constantly confused about where things are. It’s part of my OCD. Ha, ha! ;)

Oh! I’ve been tagged by Tempest over at MMC!

Here are the rules:

8 random facts/habits about me …

1. I can crawl down the side of the wall with my hands until my body is nearly bent completely backwards. (I’m also a bit out of practice, so I could just picture my back doing a nice loud crack)
2. My first concert ever was *oh goodness* Backstreet Boys. I think I just gave away my age. lol
3. My grandmother used to make octopus salad and I hated looking at the little suction cups on the tentacles, but could eat it as long as my eyes were closed.
4. I have a rock star complex (like you all didn’t know that!).
5. My hair is so thick, I actually can’t stay outside for very long in the summer because I get heat stroke so easily from the furnace/sauna on my scalp.
6. I love 80s fashion, or the lack there of.
7. I’m afraid of the dark.
8. I can watch the History Channel and Travel Channel for hours on end and never get bored. Weird, huh?

Honestly, I don’t even KNOW 8 people (yes, thats sarcasm, hush it, lol) but I figure whoever wants to give this a go, feel free! Consider my whole blog friend list tagged!

I’ve been tagged by Kelley V! :)

The rules are: Once you have been tagged you cant be re tagged, you have to write a blog with 10 weird random things, facts, or habits about yourself. At the end, you choose 10 people to be tagged and list their names. Dont forget to leave a comment that says “you are tagged” on their profile and tell them to read your latest blog.

1. I’ve competed in three karaoke competitions. I won first place in one, fifth in another, and 7th in the last. :) And a really cool grill.
2. The first movie I ever saw in theatres was (I’m gonna totally give away my age here) The Little Mermaid.
3. My name was supposed to be Ariel Nicole, but my father didn’t like it. I still look at it and think, huh, that’s kinda nice.
4. I’ve been in 4 musicals. Fame, Guys and Dolls, Once Upon a Mattress, West Side Story.
5. I was born during the last major hurricane in New England. ;) I always say it was God’s way of telling mankind to be ready for me. lol
6. I used to have this really hilarious accent. Part New York, part Puerto Rican. Or all New Yorican. However you want to see it. Since my theatre training, my accent has dimmed to practically non-existant.
7. I once died my hair red with blonde highlights. It ended up looking purple and brown, hence my high school nickname, Smuckers.
8. I have ten half brothers and sisters.
9. I speak Spanish and a little bit of French.
10. This past year I lost 24 lbs. :) And I’m still working on it.
