Brief Reminder

Saturday, May 15th, 2010

For those of you who follow my posts over at Hollow Tree (and you should, it’s so much fun in that little neck of the woods!), you already know what I’m going to say. But for those of you who don’t, I’m cross posting!

Hey readers!

I wanted to just drop in from the madness that is MayNoWriMo (good madness, as I’ve written over 3k so far, but madness none the less), and remind you all of the panel I’ll be taking part in this weekend, as part of Coyote Con!

Here are the deets:

Young Adult Spec. Fic.

Join young adult author and librarian Heather S. Ingemar and author Isabelle Santiago as they discuss writing young adult speculative fiction, the current popularity of the category, and the future of YA.

Panel: Heather S. Ingemar, Isabelle Santiago
Moderator: Deena Fisher
Conference Room: Sun Wukong
Scheduled: 11PM EST May 15, 2010

Of course, all of us here share a love for YA fiction, so if you have any questions, book suggestions, or topics you’d like discussed in this arena please feel free to post below so I can incorporate it into my panel on Saturday!  I’d love to hear what you have to say on the matter, as I find myself often falling behind. The YA spec fiction and fantasy genres are growing by leaps and bounds, becoming more insightful and creative with each writer introduced and I just can’t keep up!

Either way, I really hope a few of you will try and make it, despite the late hour (omg, I’m getting old). It’s going to be a really fun time.

Drollerie Press Chat

Sunday, February 28th, 2010

Join Drollerie Press authors tonight at 9pm EST for a fun night of chatting about books, writing, and specifically, the Brenda Novak Auction to benefit Diabetes Research. There will be book giveaways and lots of laughter. The link goes live right before chat and there is no password required (just a chat name we can address you by). We look forward to seeing you there!

Updates and Blogosphere

Friday, October 16th, 2009

I’ve done some fall cleaning!

I have (FINALLY) updated the blog with the addition of Zerah’s Chosen to the book section (on the left sidebar). It has a link to the excerpt and buy page. I have also added Drollerie Press’ logo to the Publisher tab on the bottom left.

On the right sidebar, I have added a newsletter sign-up box. The first letter will probably go out late this month, early next month, so sign up now! :)

My website will be getting updated this weekend as well, with all of the updates on Zerah, excerpt page, links, an appearances page, and newsletter sign up info.

And finally, Heather Ingemar is the featured author today at Tales from the Hollow Tree! :) Check out what she has to say about Gothic Young Adult fiction.

Looking for Book Money?

Wednesday, October 7th, 2009

Angela Korra’ti is holding an awesome contest!

Anyone who reviews or rates either any Drollerie Press work, and sends her proof that they have done so, will be entered in a random drawing for a $20 gift certificate to the book vendor of your choice. In particular, if you select Drollerie, this’ll be twenty bucks you can spend on a whole bunch of tasty on-sale ebooks!

Here are the types of evidence of reviews/ratings she will accept:

  1. Links to review posts on your own journals or blogs
  2. Links to review posts on appropriate forums
  3. Links to review posts on Goodreads, LibraryThing, or other similar sites
  4. Links to reviews on Drollerie’s site, Amazon, Barnes and Noble, Powell’s, or any other vendor where Drollerie works are sold
  5. If you’re a customer on a site where you may only rate rather than review a book, get her a screenshot of whatever you had to do to rate the book. (Be sure to blur out any personal information on the screenshot before you send it, though.)

Note also that while good reviews are shiny, honest reviews are shinier, so please be sure to post your actual, legitimate thoughts on the works in question! The important thing is that you help spread the word about Drollerie’s books.

She will accept entries until Saturday, October the 10th. Please send your entries either in the form of email to annathepiper AT gmail DOT com with the subject line “Review Contest”!
